As part of the cost of registration, attendees have access to explore the conservatory and botanical gardens (tickets to be sent at a later date). While we can't enter the Special Events Hall until our designated conference time, you are welcome to explore Phipps before and after the event, as they are open 9:30am-5pm both days.

On Monday, a substantial snack break with warm options will be served; on Tuesday, breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided.

Phipps Conservatory is located in the Oakland area of Pittsburgh, home to colleges, universities, and museums. This year, we will not be offering a prebooked hotel block. The hotels closest to Phipps include:

Happy Hour:
On Monday, October 5 from 5pm-8pm, we will be hosting a happy hour with food at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh, an authentic Bavarian brewery and restaurant. Hofbrauhaus is located at 2705 S Water St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203 and is an approximate ten minute drive from Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
Pop-Up Book Fair
Remember the special feeling of walking into a book fair at school? There were so many possibilities! We wanted to recreate that feeling for our conference. On Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 11am-3pm, there will be a pop-up book fair on site, courtesy of Blythe Books of Pittsburgh. Attendees will receive a voucher for one complementary book included with registration, and other selections will be available to purchase on-site (and they accept multiple forms of payment, including Venmo!).
